Is this normal for male boas?

This may be nothing or it may be something. I have never had a male boa before, or a male snake for that matter. And I pulled him out to handle him the other day and noticed that the skin covering his privates was pretty red, it's look a little less red now but it hasn't gone away and I was wondering if it is normal or if I should take him to the vet. He's about 70 days old, columbian boa.
