Yes I did. But I'm worried about her. It'll be a minute before i can take her to the vet, I've never had to deal with fungus before, unless you count a couple ex boyfriends as a fungus :-), i'm lost.

I called my vet to see what you can do. She said the best thing to do is try and keep her tank as dry as possible to try and kill the fungus. Other than that she said theres nothing that can be done at home.

My vet is open late sundays. From noon to 4pm and monday threw saturday from 7am to 5pm. There a great vet clinic 3 herp vets under one roof. My boyfriend says the tail will more than likley not be able to be saved if it's indeed tail rott or some kind of fungus. He said the infected part will need to be removed. It will hallow out the inner tail and then you'll have a uro with a hallow tail. I personaly would take the animal back. WC animals will always have on going health problems and low imune systems. You buying the animal from the store just shows them that no matter what animal they bring it someone will always buy it.  I feel bad telling you to give up on this animal.

I couldn't leave her Kate. she has been there for months, and wouldn't have had a chance with anyone who was interested. I totally understand what your saying and too a point agree. I also understand she will be a major money taker but I need to atleast try to give her a chance. you know?

Not sure about what may be safe for reptiles but funguses can be treated with a vinegar solution, medicated powders (like Gold Bond) or cremes like Lotrimin.  But I don't know how those would react with a reptile's system.  You could try swabbing on a non-medicated foot powder with aluminum acetate (which is a drying agent) just to keep the area very dry until you can get her to the vet.

Yeah I understand. My iguana House was one of those animals that I couldn't leave anymore. He had been at his store for over a year. It sounds more like she has tail rott than a fungus. Fungus likes to grow in dark wet conditions not in hot and dry conditions. She may have tail rott due to the petstore not being able to properly care for uros. Pet stores arn't equipted to create a 130 degree basking spot. Hopefully the tail won't have to be removed but in past cases that i've seen the tail always needs removed.
