Q: Mississippi Mud Turtle eggs have just been born. Need care tips and advice.

I recently went to the Dixie Reptile show in Birmingham Alabama and purchased a Mississippi Mud Turtle. I arrived home and named it "Taco", keeping it in a tank. That was in April. I just arrived home today from the most recent Dixie Reptile show and was cleaning tanks when I peered in and saw four eggs in Taco's tank. I'm BRAND new to the herp scene so I have no clue at all how to take care of these four turtle eggs. I have them in a bowl full of dirt sprayed with lots of water, covered with a plastic top. They're in an 80-85 degree habitat, and spread apart in their bowl. If I'm doing something wrong or if I could get ANY advice I would really really appreciate it, this is my first set off eggs from any reptile so I'm kind of frantic.

Maybe you could look at the species list here on iHerp and see who has a lot of turtles.

I bet you're the only one with a turtle named "Taco".  Awesome name.
