Help for Trop Girdled Liz

I have a tropical girdled lizard that i rescued from a college guy that wasnt feeding it, there was two of them, but i didnt get to the other one in time. so i got him in a overly big tank, and i downgraded him to a ten gallon. ive had him for about two years now. hes got an undertank heater, a uv lamp and a few different hiding places. im not worried about his cage setup but i thought that wud be important information to figure out the problem.

about 2 weeks ago hiss eyes started closing. i tried taking some normal water and a bit of cloth and wiping the crusties away, but it didnt help. now, ive noticed that hes not eating, hes getting really skinny, a nd he wont even open his mouth for me to feed him. i was able to get some water down his thoat, but he wont let me put food down. also, yesterday, i was reading on my bed, and i looked up and it looked like he had puked spit, like he had rabies, there were white bubbles streaming down his mouth, and it only happened that once, that ive seen.

should i expect the worst? i dont know how old he is and i have had him for about 2 years... so it could be that hes just old, but i dont know.

UPDATE:: i foundt ley live about 20 years.

Unfortunately I don't know much about Cordylus but what you're describing sounds like classic symptoms of a respiratory infection. I would get him to a vet ASAP.

hes gone, he died today
