Black spot on leo belly?
|
|
Today I took my leo that hasn't been eating.. Theres no parasites he says that i will need to force feed and all that stuff but he said that the only thing that really worries him if she starts eating again is this black spot on her belly have any of ya'll seen this before and know what its about? What really worries me is that he said its untreatable!

And the black spot is on the inside of the belly not the outside!

no cant take one even thoe the vet said force feed her i dont want to stress her out more

Have you considered the possibility of her being impacted? Has she been defecating? Did you have her housed on sand, or were you feeding her only feeders with a very high chitin content (like mealworms, especially those getting ready to molt)?
Just a thought. I can't say I know much about leos, but that's the first thing that comes to mind... Good luck.

Well, most of the time, leopard geckos are born with a dark black spot on their bellies and sometimes they still have it when they get older. I dont know what it is, but a lot of the geckos I have seen have it. Yours could be the same thing, possibly. The ones I am talking about are not very large black spots, maybe 2-4 mm in diameter. If yours is like that, it is probably nothing to worry about. However, if it is much larger than that, there could be something else going on. If its a small black spot in like the middle-ish of their belly, then it is most likely normal.
