Q: Rtb shedding again after two monthes normal?
Posted By:

My RTB just started eating regularly again and she had shed about two monthes ago now her eyes are cloudy and I notice her belly is more pink. Think she is gonna shed or something else?

I agree. It's somewhat dependent on age, but you should expect a shed every 6-8 weeks.

could be going through a growth spurt. as long as the sheds are successful (meaning the humidity is good, 1 piece is best, if it tears and comes out in 2 or 3 pieces thats ok too just as long as none of it is retained) shedding is a good thing.

Yep, sheds can happen as early as 4 weeks apart, to 3 months apart, depending on their feeding schedule and if there are any size increases with the prey. The times between sheds shouldn't ever be a problem, it's HOW they shed. As long as your girl's shed is nice and full, she's healthy. If it's broken up into bits and there is stuck shed, then something is wrong, and that is the only time to worry.

This is why I love this site. *laughs*

But yeah, what they said. :) I've had a boa go through two shed cycles within the same month (after upping the food size). Unless it's really excessive and they're shedding so often they're becoming emaciated, or like was said about the humidity/full sheds, no worries. :)

My BCC sheds once a month and is 6 ft (3 years old) and my BCI sheds every two months and is only 1 year old and 4 ft long.

There is no hard a set rule for shedding frequency. Snakes can shed for other reasons besides growth. For instance if they are stressed and if they have an injury that they are trying to heal from, they will shed more often.

And to add to snakecharmer-- they can also shed if they are losing weight.  Your snake sounds like it is just going into a plain good ole fashioned shed cycle!

Normal shed.  My RTB has shed every 2 months religiously since the day I got her from the store.  Pink belly is the second best thing to milky eyes.  If their belly is pink (from neck to vent) they're pretty much gona shed lol.  If there's random red splotches on her tummy it could be multiple things.  If they disapear it's a pressure spot.  Mine gets then when she drapes over her bowl.  I'll see then then rub her belly n it disperses the blood evenly again.  If they don't go away and look flaky, crusty, etc. then there's cause for concern.  You're however is 99.99999999% going to shed lol.  No fear :)
