Q: any tips on sunbeam snakes?

I have decided to get a pair of sunbeam snakes. I have done alot of research on them and the ones im getting have been around for a while their coming from a friend of mine right down the street, so I know they have been eating well and hes has not had any real problems with them. What I really want to know is have any of you had experience with them? What are some good things to keep in mind? Have any of you tried breeding them? If so was it sucessful? Im just asking because I have heard alot of bad things about keeping them. They are cb. Thanks.

I've never heard of one eating frozen thawed, so that's a potential problem. Otherwise I know if you stick to the general requirements they are pretty good pets.

What is he getting to them eat? getting them to mice in general is usually quite a challenge, forget frozen thawed. All I have ever heard is that they stress easily and make horrible displays... They need ridiculous high humidity... like...mud basically.... If you can keep em correctly they are pretty cool but you can't really handle them much and you never see em so kinda makes them pointless captives.... in my opinion at least... when you do see em they are amazing though.

I forgot who he got them from but I know he looked for a very long time to find them. They are both eating live mice weekly. The male has rejected food once but ate again the next week with no problems.

Mine likes to hide in wood shavings which are just damp.  He eats very well (live mice).  Don't upset them - they let of a rather nasty musk!
