I keep getting mold on my eggs, this time it's my leo eggs! Is there anything I can do to stop this, it's killed 2 batches of my crestie eggs and I don't know what's causing it. The mold looks like white hairs and no black at all. Any help would be greatly appriciated

usually that means they are to moist with not enough ventilation, how are you setting up the eggs?

Mold occurs when there is too much humidty in the container in which you are incubating them in. You want the incubation medium damp but not soaked. If there is no vent in the container you may want to make a few small holes for airflow. It could also be that the eggs are just duds. Have you candled to see if there are any veins? I've had duds develop mold and then candled and found nothing going on in them. Its a bummer but it happens. Good luck to you!

I've also hear that using a small amount of Athlete's Foot can help kill the mold. Never tested this theory because I don't have any eggs yet, but from my research I have to agree with the previous posters: mold accumulates b/c of too much moisture or not enough air flow, or both. I've also read that instead of drilling holes (if that is inconvenient for you) pop the top off the incubater once every day or two and fan the eggs for a bit. This will replace the stagnant air with fresh air. Hope all turns out well!

I agree with the issue of being too damp. Do NOT use anti-fungal on leo eggs. I know from experience that it kills them. What a friend of mine does is to get a small rubbermaid/ziplock food container. The size that just fits a cube of butter. Fill it about 3/4 with the hatch medium you are using (he uses perlite) then get a piece of that waffly rubbery shelf/drawer liner and cut it to fit on top of the medium. Cut two (or three) holes in the shelf stuff so that the egg sits in the hole but doesn't fall through. Then poke a few pinholes in the lid and add just enough water so that it stays wet but never comes close to the eggs. A bit less than half full usually lasts the entire incubation time.

For the mold you have now, use a q-tip and gently swab off as much as you can, then move them carefully to the new box. Keep the new box in the incubator for a while before you switch so it can get to the right temp.

As with everyone else, mold is caused by too much moisture and not enough ventilation. IMO, the best way to incubate eggs and keep the moisture at the right level is to fill the container your using 1/4 vermeculite 2/4 perlite, use a sringe and inject water into the vermeculite till it is all wet.  and then put the lid on. After that incubate at the appropriate temp. Ive only incubated 2 eggs and they both hatched but it worked for me. My step brother uses this technique and he has hatched hundreds of leo's so i would go for it.

same as before, but I used athletes foot powder applied with a qtip on eastern Indigo eggs and it worked wonders, killed the fungus.
