Q: red tail boa for sell....anyone intrested?

In Relation To:

Hiss [red tail]

I have a 3 1/2 foot male red tail boa that I need to sell. I got him as a rescue and he has a very sketchy temperment. I have been handling him on a daily basis trying to rehabilitate him and get him use to contact, but my son is due to be born in a few weeks and I know that I will not have the time to handle him the way he needs it. Once he gets use to you, he is a very sweet snake, but he does not do well with change in scenery or environment. He needs an expierenced owner and someone that can give him the time and attention he needs to keep his temperment steady. I am asking $150 for him. Serious inquires only please.

I think you posted in the wrong area, this is the Answers area, you may want to post a classified ad for him.  Do you know how to or would you like me to explain it?

Can you ship? If not you may have to go the CL route.

If you could help, that would be great. I tried, but computers and technology aren't my strong suit, lol.

I agree with George about the shipping, you may have trouble finding someone in your area, also you can list him on Fauna.

To list here you'll go to his page and on the top of his page it'll say "Return Loan" "Loan Animal" "Transfer" "Post Classified" "Edit"  Click "Post Classified" and just fill out the information.

I won't be able to ship him, was hoping to find someone in my area to give him to. I don't want to surrender him to a pet shop because he has potential to be a great pet, just needs someone who can give him the time that I do not have anymore. I will look at Fauna. Thank you for your help.

Not that you can't ask whatever you want for an animal, and maybe it's different in your area, but unless he's coming with a complete set-up, you may have better luck with a lower rehoming fee. In my area, for a normal male Boa, one may be able to get $50.

Hell, I can't even GIVE away the rescue I took in....

I agree, your price is going to turn most people off.  I offer rescue boas for $40 at that size.  And, with a "sketchy temperament", you will have an even harder time.

$150 for a nasty rescue   Good luck with that one

I'm also pretty sure this boa does not originate from Central Florida

In order to accurately represent the animal, you'll want to change the species to Common Northern Boa. You currently have him listed as a Columbian Rainbow Boa.

Glad you guys said something about that, I saw the Central FL Locale and was wondering about that, I somehow missed it being labrled as a Rainbow though.  Definetly want to update those so they are correct.

i think she thought it was asking for her location and the snakes locality.

Yes, I was talking about my locale being central Florida...I am aware this snake did not come from here. I was looking for columbian boa, not common northern boa which is why it said ranibow. If you go back and look. I have fixed and changed things. If you are not intrested in buying him or do not have any useful info on how I can sell him, please quit posting. I don't want to have to week through people's opinions or telling me I'm wrong about things. Thank you.

I think those things are important in selling an animal, they were not meant as an attack on you, but to help you sell him, you don't want to be preceived as trying to sell an animal for something it's not, which we realize you weren't trying to do, but others may not know that. Locale means where the animal originated from, so for example with corn snakes you may just have a regular corn snake and not know where it originated from, but sometimes people will know where that line came from geographically, in many cases you'll see the locale for some corns may be FL.  I don't personally put a locale unless I happen to know the region that particular animal's line's originated from otherwise it can cause confusion.

Dont get bitchy when you A) can't spell, B) posted this in the wrong damn spot, and C) had your animal for sale mislabeled. *sarcastic golf clap here*

Why do some prople have to be such butt holes?       She's trying to do the right thing for the snake.

Isn't that what's important here?       Not her spelling??

Cut her some slack......

She was cut a lot of slack, and decided to get snarky despite the great advice and help she was given when she did everything wrong. Also, this ad sounds exactly like the zillions of Craigslist ads I see every day, so forgive me if I have no sympathy for someone who cant even use their critical thinking skills (and reading comprehension skills) to post her ad in the proper area.

I don't think anyone really cares about her spelling, it was her comment telling us "If you are not intrested in buying him or do not have any useful info on how I can sell him, please quit posting. I don't want to have to week through people's opinions or telling me I'm wrong about things."  Also she's asking a lot for this snake, I think these kinds of comments are important and are what I would consider "useful info on how [to] sell him."  I think that's what got everyone a bit annoyed.  Everyone was being polite and trying to help and basically that's the thanks we got.

I made the spelling comment...I feel like if the person posting an animal for sale cant bother to use spell check, what else cant they bother with/handle? Obviously contstructive feedback and help is something that they cant handle...

I can let the spelling slide. However Ernie would you like me to post links to the other questions where she got "snarky" or blew off advice in the past?

I wasn't trying to be "snarky". The people who gave me constructive criticisim and tried to help are not the ones I was referring to. Yes I misspelled a word, big whup. I have alot going on and was trying to make sure my animal gets taken care of and do right by him and my family. I already stated that I am not good with technology and if I knew how to delete this question and my whole damn account I would. Truth is I am not on here enough to even worry about it. Thank you to those who actually tried to help and give me good advice, I have taken it into consideration and am now going through other means to find my snake a home.

Yeah thats a 50.00 snake and with all the color morphs on the market its going to be hard to sell it for any profit . I rehab snakes all the time and its more important to find it a good forever home  than to make money on it .
